Luleå Studentkår consists of 4 sections which are divided based on the program which are mostly similar to each other. This makes it easier to find a community, get help with education and make contact with business life that is more adapted to each individual student. Each section has its own statutes and its own finances and is relatively autonomous under Luleå Studentkår. However, the sections must not violate Luleå Studentkårs statutes and policies.
ESS stands for Aesthetics, System and Society. The section brings together the motley crowd of Political Science, Systems Science, Graphic Design, Digital Service Development, Sociology, Psychology and Law. We are a young section with driven members and a great interest in student life at LTU, both for our own programs and in general.
Like most sections, we organize lectures, sit-ins and other activities. We have a fantastic sex mastery called Essex, a thunderous after-party venue called Valhall and then also Grafisk Design’s exuberant program association CMYK under us.
The economics section is the section for all economics and real estate brokerage students at Luleå University of Technology. We are constantly working to brighten the lives of our members while they are studying. This, among other things, by having close contact with the business world for an exchange of experiences with them, constantly offering our members favorable prices and offers, as well as by helping with training monitoring
PiSt stands for Piteå student section and is a section under the Luleå Studentkår that is located at the music college in Piteå, which is part of Luleå University of Technology. The Academy of Music is located in the northern part of Piteå and is linked to Studio Acusticum with which we have a close collaboration. Every year, several concerts are organized there in connection with the school’s education and, the highlight of the year, SMASK (Sweden’s music academics’ song kåntest), which PiSt are very proud organizers of.
The Health and Learning section, also known as SHoL, is for all students at Luleå University of Technology who have either started or completed their studies on the nursing program, the physiotherapist program or the teaching program. The aim of the section is to actively work to achieve the needs of its students during the study period, constant work towards the school and educational authorities and ensure that the year in SHoL becomes the best possible start to the study period at LTU.
